Tony Lo Bianco: The Voice of OSIA



The career of actor Tony Lo Bianco is distinguished as much by its depth and variety as by the skills and gifts that Mr. Lo Bianco has brought to it. He works as an actor in films, television movies, mini-series, weekly series and on stage. Besides being an actor, he is a director and a producer. In each role, he has worked with some of the best actors and directors in television, film and theater.

Mr. Lo Bianco was nominated for best actor for the Tony Award for Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge and won the Outer Critics Circle Award for outstanding performance in that production. Among the awards for his work is an Emmy Award for his performance in the one-man show Hizzoner: The Life of Fiorello La Guardia and the Obie Award for best actor in Yanks 3, Detroit 0, Top of the 7th, and most recently starred in FIORELLO! a Broadway Musical.

His many film credits include starring in the cult films, The Honeymoon Killers and God Told Me To, Academy Award winning The French Connection with Gene Hackman, The Seven-Ups with Roy Scheider, Bloodbrothers with Richard Gere, F.I.S.T with Sylvester Stallone, City Heat with Clint Eastwood, Oliver Stone’s Nixon with Anthony Hopkins, and The Juror with Alec Baldwin and Demi Moore.

In television, Mr. Lo Bianco has starred in such acclaimed mini-series as Marco Polo, Jesus of Nazareth, and La Romana with Gina Lollobrigida. He was a regular on the well-received TV drama series Police Story, Palace Guard and Jessie co-starring with Lindsay Wagner. He has appeared in numerous episodes of Deadline, Homicide, and Law and Order. He has starred as Rocky Marciano in the original television movie, Marciano, and later co-starred in the remake The Rocky Marciano Story with George C. Scott and Jon Favreau. Other television movies include The Ann Jillian Story, Teamster Boss and The Last Tenant.

He has also directed episodes of Police Story among other television programs, and the feature film Too Scared to Scream with Anne Arche, John Heard and Maureen O’Sullivan. He co-founded New York’s Triangle Theatre and served as artistic director there, directing 8 productions and producing 25 others, working with such notables as Roy Scheider, David Birney, playwright/actor Jason Miller, and lightening designer Jules Fisher among many others.

Despite his busy professional schedule, Mr. Lo Bianco is on the board of directors of many charities, especially those involving children. He is the National Spokesperson for the Order Sons of Italy in America.
